Dr. Jacinto L. Marchetti is full Professor at the Universidad Nacional del Litoral (UNL), and Member of the argentine National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) as Independent Researcher. He completed his Chemical Engineering degree from the UNL at Santa Fe, Argentina in 1971, and his M.Sc. and Ph. D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB), USA, in 1980 and 1982 respectively. After his return from USA in October 1982, Dr. Marchetti joints the Institute of Technological Development for the Chemical Industry (INTEC) en Santa Fe, Argentina. Since then, he participates in research projects and supervises graduate students thesis works. He also teaches graduate and undergraduate courses at the School of Chemical Engineering of UNL. His main research interest have been in the areas of continuous and discrete process control, control of energy recovery systems, predictive control, statistical quality control and process monitoring. His teaching interests include courses on similar subjects: Computer Process Control, Statistical Quality Control and Process Monitoring. He is also a former Industrial Engineering Department Head, and presently Member of the Directive Council of the School of Chemical Engineering of UNL.
